Farmers are urged to carefully check their grant applications to the Agricultural Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) after the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) accurately reports problems.
There are only three weeks left to submit applications before the Jan. 7 deadline, but there are issues with some that have already been submitted, according to the NFU’s business advisory team.
RPA has raised issues of accuracy for applicants bidding for a share of the £ 17million funding.
Applications may experience issues if details such as the email address used on the application form do not exactly match what is in the RPA’s online records. The Unique Business Identifier (SBI) and Company Registration Number (CRN) must also be linked to an applicant’s RPA records.

The NFU says it’s important that applicants allow themselves enough time to correct erroneous details on their forms.
“If you want to apply, it is essential that all guidelines are read in their entirety,” he advises.
“You need to be clear about what information is needed to make a successful request and help avoid problems.
“Go to the Rural Payments Online service beforehand to check and, if necessary, update contact details or authorizations. It will save you time in the long run. ”
The FETF is a competitive system that allows farmers, foresters, and entrepreneurs to apply from a defined list of 120 smaller grant items – each item is associated with a standard grant contribution.
The minimum total grant contribution is £ 2,000, while the total top grant contribution for this cycle of the program is £ 25,000.
Members are likely to know if they pass by February 2022 – if they are, the minimum specs must be met for an assigned item.
“Contact the RPA on 03000 200 301 or FETFClaims@rpa.gov.uk if you are unsure about purchasing items and their specifications,” suggests the NFU.
“It is important to note that only new articles are allowed; any purchase of used, ex-demo or almost new equipment will result in the cancellation of the entire claim. ”
The deadline for complaints is September 30, 2022 at midnight.
