Ready Egg Products announces the acquisition of Skea Egg Farms Ltd


Established in Lisnaskea in 1975, then known as Erne Eggs Ltd, Ready Eggs has diversified and invested in state-of-the-art facilities, producing a range of egg products including liquid eggs, hard-boiled, scrambled and others, with facilities in Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

In a statement, they said they were “delighted” that Skea Eggs is now a member of the Ready Egg Products group.

“Ready Eggs recently completed work on the UK’s only egg powder factory; a new line of products that will be available soon,” a spokesperson commented.

“The acquisition of Skea Egg Farms Ltd will enable further diversification of the group, consolidating its position as a leading player in the market.

“Skea Egg Farms Ltd is a family business supplying over 9.5 million eggs a week to major retailers in Northern Ireland and mainland Britain.

“Founded by Matthew Hayes in the early 1970s, the family business has grown to become a leading egg supplier with over 130 employees.”

As well as Skea Eggs own brand, they also supply their own brand to major retailers in Northern Ireland and Great Britain including Tesco, M&S, Sainsbury’s and Asda to name a few.

The acquisition of Skea Eggs follows a long-standing relationship between the two companies.

The Hayes family will remain involved in the day-to-day running of the organization, ensuring the continuity of relationships built over the past five decades.
