The popular shepherdess, who lives at Ravenseat Farm in North Yorkshire, has nine children with her husband Clive and they were brought up on the farm.
The Our Yorkshire Farm star told the Hay Festival of Literature and Arts that she ‘isn’t the perfect mum’ but tries to teach her children their ‘own parameters’.
After rising to unexpected fame due to the runaway success of her show, Amanda is often praised for her parenting style.
But the Daily mail reports she said at the festival: “I got a yellow flag from social services… I think there’s a middle ground in letting kids climb trees. Yeah, they don’t have harnesses or headphones, but I believe there are lessons to be learned that don’t necessarily lead to instant death but actually learn your own settings.”
She did not give details of why she had been in contact with social services.
